At long last the Sports Club now has a purpose-built Clubhouse - costing almost half-a-million pounds - with provision for social as well as sporting facilities, including a Function Room with Bar, Kitchen and Servery facilities, something the existing pavilion always lacked (and especially important since the demise of the Community Lounge at the local school, due to local education authority cost-saving cutbacks some years ago).
This aspect of the project is important to the success of the Sports Club and already local community organisations and residents are making good use of the facilities on offer, especially the ample car parking - something of a rarity in Market Bosworth!
This picture of where the old pavilion once stood at the Wellsborough Road sports ground could one day become the realisation of a new dream for the Sports Club - ultimately providing the necessary ground space for construction of an all-weather floodlit multi-sports facility for everyday use.
Hopefully, with continuing help and support now that the main Clubhouse project is almost complete, it will not take another 40 years to realise the next dream!
Many challenges still lie ahead so please help us in whatever way you can - view the Progress and Funding pages for further details - and remember that every penny counts, so even the smallest assistance (financial or not) can make a real difference.
Following the success of several major funding applications, the Sports Club was delighted to announce that September 2015 marked the start of their biggest ever project - to provide a new Community Clubhouse, including changing rooms for four teams plus a function room and culinary facilities for use by social, leisure and sporting activities.
